Short Summary: After his discussion with Haruno Sakura last month, Naruto was posed with the possibility that some Restless may prefer to remain in the Netherworld instead of returning home to their original world. Because he’s made it his personal mission to find everyone a means of escaping the Netherworld—which he does not believe is actually the afterlife—Naruto asked the network for their opinions on the subject in an effort to understand different perspectives.
Several days later, he noticed his spiritual connection with Uchiha Sasuke abruptly disappearing when Sasuke was imprisoned in the Gallows. Naruto and Sakura immediately ventured to the last location they had sensed Sasuke’s chakra. Eventually, they discovered the Restless imprisoned in the Gallows and helped Sasuke escape.
The following day, Sasuke confronted Naruto and proposed becoming soulmates—albeit, in a poorly communicated manner. They argued and eventually got into a brawl over the subject, without becoming soulmates. Since then, Naruto has avidly avoided both his teammates and other Restless friends, leading up to him finally being taken for his first Harrowing.
